Beaver Scouts are the youngest members of the Scouting movement, ranging in age from 6 to 8 years old. These enthusiastic youngsters embark on a journey of exploration, learning, and adventure.
The Beaver section, known as a "Colony," is where they engage in a wide array of activities designed to foster personal development, teamwork, and an appreciation for the outdoors.
Beaver Scouts gain valuable life skills while building friendships and having a blast. They are encouraged to be curious, kind, and helpful, embodying the Scouting motto of "Be Prepared" while exploring the world around them. They also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
Beaver Scouts lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and a commitment to making the world a better place.
Beaver Scouts can earn a variety of badges to recognize their achievements and skills. These badges are designed to encourage personal development and fun in a supportive and educational environment. Some common badges earned by Beaver Scouts include the Friendship Badge, which promotes social interaction and teamwork; the Creative Activity Badge, which encourages artistic and imaginative pursuits; and the My World Challenge Badge, which helps young scouts explore their local communities and understand their place in the world. Additionally, Beaver Scouts can earn badges related to outdoor activities, physical fitness, and environmental awareness, fostering a sense of adventure and responsibility. These badges are a way for young children to learn and grow while having a great time in the process.
